Welcome to UCSpots. Your privacy is important to us. This policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our campus discovery platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account using Google Sign-In, share a new "spot" on campus, or upload photos of your favorite study nooks.

  • Account Data: Name, email address, and profile picture provided via OAuth.
  • User Content: Photos, descriptions, and location data for the spots you share.
  • Device Info: IP addresses and browser types for security and analytics.

Note for Students:

We never sell your data to campus administration or third-party advertisers. 

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to maintain and improve UCSpots, including to facilitate spot sharing, moderate content, and personalize your campus map experience.

3. Sharing Your Data

Your "spots" and public profile information are visible to other users. We do not share your private email or sensitive account details with other members.

Terms of Service

By using UCSpots, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

1. Content Ownership

You retain all rights to the photos and text you upload. However, by posting content to UCSpots, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content within the platform.

2. Limitation of Liability

UCSpots is provided "as is." We are not responsible for any issues arising from your physical visit to any location found on the map. Always follow campus safety guidelines and building rules.

3. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate our community conduct or engage in behavior harmful to the platform.
